Hello, folks. Glad you came to visit our website. My name is Neil Lodge and I’m the pastor at Cherry Hill Orthodox Presbyterian Church. Our name means a lot to us, but sometimes it confuses people so let me say a little about it.
- “Orthodox” means “straight teaching” or teaching that conforms to that found in the Bible.
- “Presbyterian” means that we are governed by elders and not by higher bishops or by the congregation itself.
- “Church” is the body of believers in Jesus Christ who have been called out of the rest of society to be a special group that is holy to the Lord.
We are just a house of sinners. So don’t come looking for a bunch of people that are a lot different from you. On the other hand, we believe God has called us to be like Jesus. That means we spend a lot of time working on ourselves to make sure we are growing in our Christian faith.
Being like Jesus means that we reach out to people like you and others who may not call themselves “Christian” or be part of a church already. Outreach is one of our main jobs and so we would love to tell you something about the good news God has given us to spread.
But, by far the best part of the week for us here at Cherry Hill O.P.C. is worship. We love to get together on Sunday morning and evening to praise God and hear his word. We’re kind of conservative so you won’t see a lot of the latest wrinkles some have added to worship. We just pray, praise, and preach.
Finally, let me say just a word about myself. I’m sixty-two years old, a South Jersey native, and a happily married man for thirty-five years. I met Susan, my wife, while I was in the Air Force in Denver, Colorado. She and I have had four children: Jessica, Stephen, David, and Russell.
Here at Cherry Hill Church we are firm believers in the sovereignty of God and we know that God is working all things together for our good. We would love to have you come and share in the goodness that he has shown to us in Christ Jesus. Right now, Jesus is in Heaven and we’re waiting for him to come back. Won’t you join us?
